A Model of Patriotism

Dr. Rashid Mfaume Kawawa “Simba wa Vita” (Lion of War) symbolises his dignified Leadership as the Second Prime Minister, First Vice President and the Minister of Defence and National Service of the Republic of Tanganyika (later known as The United Republic of Tanzania). The Museum presents his personal life, political life, and diverse collections. It was officially opened to the public on 27 February 2017.

The Museum contains belongings from the Late Dr. Rashid Mfaume Kawawa's life, which include books, garments, medals and furniture.

• Underground tunnel for defense and security used by early freedom fighters in Sub-Saharan African countries and the First African Film “Muhogo Mchungu” released in 1951
